March has been a month of unpredictable weather where I am, with a mix of sunny and rainy days. However, as the month came to a close, the winds grew rough, leaving their mark on the local coastline. More debris than usual has been washing ashore.
During a walk with my loyal companion, Dora, we noticed just how much of this debris was human-made rubbish. It’s disheartening to see how easily we pollute habitats that belong to others.
On the upside, the increase in driftwood washing ashore has been a silver lining. It gave me the perfect opportunity to gather extra pieces for upcoming projects in my shop.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t such good news for oyster shells. The stormy weather left behind mostly smaller shells, too tiny for what I need, so I decided to leave them behind.
We didn’t come across any significant “beach treasures” this time, but the closest thing to a beach body was a soaked panda teddy. Not exactly vulture culture material, but I picked it up and put it in the bin, giving it a proper end.
Here’s hoping for better luck on our next trip!
